The Speech and Debate Magnet Program at Chapel Hill High School is designed to strengthen students’ academic and personal skills while preparing them for success in college, career, and life. Through Speech Forensics and project-based learning, students develop skills that transfer to all areas of life, including:
Oral and written communication
Confidence and leadership
Research skills for college and career success
Critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving
Admission Process
Students outside the CHHS attendance zone may apply for the magnet program during the fall of their 8th-grade year.
Students who are districted for Chapel Hill High School may participate in the magnet program without completing the application process.
