It's Your Time to Design!

Attention all designers and artists! Get ready to showcase your talent and creativity by designing a school spirit t-shirt. Your artwork will be proudly displayed all over Chapel Hill, making a bold statement and leaving a lasting impression. Don't miss this incredible opportunity to leave your mark on our school! ELIGIBILITY / ENTRY

There is no entry fee to submit a design. All entrants must currently be registered as Chapel Hill High School students and be members of the class for which they submit a design. Only one (1) design submission per person is allowed. Four (4) winners will be acknowledged:

  • Freshmen Class of 2028

  • Sophomore Class of 2027

  • Junior Class of 2026

  • Senior Class of 2025

GUIDELINES:

  1. This contest is open to all registered Chapel Hill High School, Douglasville students.

  2. All designs must be original creations of the contestant, and incorporate all of the required design components outlined below

  3. Submissions must not have been previously published and must not contain profanity, drug or alcohol references, trademarks, other organization's logos, gang affiliations, or any copyrighted works of any other person or business.

  4. Design(s) must be submitted in .png format, on the Chapel Hill High School website via the submission form by 11:59 pm (ET) on November 22, 2024.

  5. Designs must be created in Adobe (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Canva, or CorelDRAW.

  6. Winning designers must sign a waiver allowing Chapel Hill High School to use their design for printing and promotional purposes, free of charge.

  7. The contest winners must agree to submit a high-resolution layered vector art file within 7 days of notification and agree to work with the school's printer if slight changes/modifications are necessary for production. If not, an alternate winner may be chosen to meet the school's production deadlines.

DESIGN THEME:

  • The winning design will be placed on the front of the grade-level t-shirt. Each grade level will have its own design.

  • Theme: The design theme must include "Class of..." (2025, 2026, 2027, 2028, respectively), "Chapel Hill" and "Be Excellent on Purpose".

  • Chapel Hill Logo: The design must include one of the official Chapel Hill logos found here.

HOW THE WINNERS ARE SELECTED:

  1. Entries will be evaluated by an independent internal panel of judges and will be reviewed for concept and originality of design

  2. Visibility from a reasonable distance

  3. Adherence to design and submission rules and guidelines

  4. Adherence to Chapel Hill High School and Student Government branding guidelines, including logo usage, content rules, and design.

  5. Successfully capturing the spirit of Chapel Hill High School

  6. Totality of design and production readiness

  7. Upon final review, the top three designs will be presented for a public vote from each GRADE level (limit of one vote per person). Votes must be submitted by 4:59 pm on December 17 via the t-shirt contest website. If a tie breaker is required, a member of the Chapel Hill Administrative team will cast the final vote.

FINE PRINT:

Publicity and Agreement: Contest entry constitutes an agreement by the submitting designers to grant free license of all copyrights of the submitted works to Chapel Hill High School SGA in perpetuity, for publicity and promotional purposes. The top 3 finalists will be subject to approval by Chapel Hill High School per the Standards Agreement before public voting.

Media Release: By submitting artwork, you agree that if your design wins, Chapel Hill High School SGA retains first printing rights and a free license, in perpetuity, to utilize the design on t-shirts and other promotional items, and marketing, fundraising, and public relations materials. You are guaranteeing that your design does not contain any copyrighted material, including images/copy found on the internet unless clearly marked as published under a Creative Commons (cc) license. Contest entrants who are not selected as the winning designer(s) retain all rights to their artwork.
