Grammar and Vocabulary Practice
www.conjuguemos.com - access the section on French verbs and then the student may select many different practice activities. Students are encouraged to make a free account on this site to keep track of their progress.
www.vhlcentral.com - Student may use this site to view videos directly related to the French curriculum at CHHS. Students must register first.
www.lawlessfrench.com - This website is a catchall of French. It has grammar, practice quizzes, word of the day (Mot du jour) and literally a dictionary's worth of vocabulary for students to look through when they need a little extra help. Simply type what you are looking for in the search bar and you'll find a lesson on it complete with helpful hints and quizzes.
Dictionary
The only online dictionary allowed for use on at home assignments is www.wordreference.com. This dictionary allows students to type in a word they are searching for and find it's meaning (or multiple meanings) along with examples of how it's used. Most other online translators simply give the most used for of whatever word is being searching for, without explanation, resulting in sometimes hilarious but incorrect sentences.
Using word processors or translators that render entire sentences, paragraphs, or papers into French are against the code of ethics and is considered plagiarism. If a student is found to have used any of these they will be subject to a referral and a zero on whatever assignment it was used on.
