Masters of Education in School Library Media from the University of West Georgia - 2014

Specialist of Education in School Library Media from the University of West Georgia - 2019

Professional - After 15 years of employment as the Therapeutic Coordinator with Carrollton Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department, I returned to school with the desire to change careers and move into the role of a Media Specialist in a school system.  Over the course of my former profession, I received numerous awards such as GRPA Therapeutic Section Distinguished Professional Award in 2005, UGA’s Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies Alumni Award for Distinguished Professional in 2005,  Special Olympics Georgia’s Outstanding Local Coordinator Distinguished Service Award in 2006, and GRPA 4th District Distinguished Professional Award in 2013.

In 2016, I was blessed to be offered a position as a Media Specialist at Chapel Hill High School.  The career change has been awesome and I cannot imagine not working in this field.  I love making an impact in the lives of our students!

Personal - I have a very modern, blended family which consist of my niece and nephew, Skyler and Grey (28 and 26 years old) who have been my "children" since they were 7 and 5 years old, my husband of 9 years, Luke and my stepdaughter, Kaylin who is 14 years old.

Hobbies and Interests - My husband and I are avid cruisers and love to travel anytime we can get away!  We are looking forward to our 31st cruise together this year during the Winter Break 2024.  I am also the Chapel Hill High School EF Tours Group Leader for International Student Travel. Please feel free to contact me if you want more information about our adventurous travels.
